Timeless Lessons from a Small Town
Faith. Family. Formation.
Lessons forged in a three-bedroom home in Marysville, Ohio.
In a small three-bedroom house in Marysville, Ohio, thirteen children learned lessons that would shape their lives far beyond childhood.Through crowded bedrooms, paper routes at dawn, parish fish fries, wartime sacrifice, and a mother’s hand-stitched quilts, The Family of Thirteen reflects on the virtues that form strong lives: humility, integrity, perseverance, courage, community, hope, forgiveness, and Christ-centered love. This is not a story about abundance or comfort. It is a story about formation.Rooted in Scripture and lived experience, this book offers timeless lessons for anyone seeking to build a life anchored in faith, responsibility, and love that holds when circumstances stretch thin.
• How hardship quietly forms strength
• Why waiting can deepen patience instead of hardening hearts
• The power of integrity when no one is watching
• Lessons in generosity learned from scarcity
• Courage shaped by service and sacrifice
• Christ-centered love as the thread that holds everything together
